Art and Sculpture at the Bemidji Public Library:
The Bemidji Public Library Board has several pieces of sculpture that adorn the front gardens. The delightful sculpture “A Little Bird” is on permenant display in front of the library near the main entrance off of 5th St. Northwest in Bemidji. The sculpture was created by artist Julie Jones of Fort Collins, Colorado. It first came to the Library as part of the Bemidji Sculpture Walk. It was then purchased with funds from the Friends of the Library, the Bemidji Garden Club and a grant from the Region 2 Arts Council. The other sculpture "Celestial Orbit" that is also along the front gardens, was created by and donated to the Library by Bemidji Sculptor Suzi Rhae Ross.
Every month the Art Wall has a new display from a local artist. This art exhibit is in collaboration with Gallery North, and is one of many locations in Bemidji's "First Friday Art Walk". Artists are encouraged to contact Paul Simonson 218-444-7886, the coordinator for the Library's art wall, to learn more about how they might be able to have their work on display at the Library
