Foundation Center Cooperating Collection Grant Information for Non-Profit Organizations
The Brainerd Public Library is one of the few libraries in the state to have a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center, a national center with information on all active U.S. foundations in print and electronic database form. This collection provides patrons with access to grant maker directories, books on fundraising and nonprofit management, and the Foundation Center's electronic databases: Foundation Directory Online Professional and Foundation Grants to Individuals Online.
The Foundation Directory Online Professional database includes detailed profiles of all active U.S foundations, as well as an extensive file on recent grants awarded by the nation's top funders. Searches can be done by type of service, geographical location and many other factors. Access to the online databases is available at the Brainerd Public Library. To learn more about this or to schedule computer time at the library, please contact the Reference Desk, Brainerd Public Library, 218-829-2906, or email: reference@krls.org.
Also, available at the Brainerd Public Library is Minnesota Grantmakers Online, a searchable online database of Minnesota grantmakers and grants. All these databases are only accessible at a Brainerd Public Library public computer and require username and password login. Please ask the Reference desk staff for assistance.
